My Adventures in Motherland
by Rick Balian
A comedy/drama that deals with a 16-year-old girl’s battles with the demands of her divorced mother, her peers, and herself. Traci Milacki falls asleep in front of the TV. She finds herself as a contestant in a weird game show hosted by two super-slick hosts: Bob and Julie. The game rewards Traci for making bad decisions. She eventually realizes that by winning, she condemns herself to playing the game forever. When she wakes up, she makes an uneasy truce with her mom — each making a commitment to try to understand each other’s challenges a little better.
This was originally produced by The REV Theater in Auburn, NY — and it toured high schools throughout New York State.
